AJay Bennett is a passionate writer, creator, and artist. Originally from Texas, AJay spent her childhood working on every art form from graphite sketching to sewing. In middle school, Bennett found a passion for music, and, later on, the radio industry as a whole. In high school, she discovered a passion for the film analysis through YouTube.

During her younger schooling years, Bennett struggled with learning challenges, including delayed reading skills and dyslexia. Do to these challenges, reading and writing were an enemy of embarrassment for her. When she got older, AJay decided that her deficiencies were not allowed to define her, and began a long journey of reclaiming her relationship to written words. After many years of tears and struggles, Bennett happily enjoys all parts of reading and writing culture.

Though never imagining herself as a writer, Bennett has always loved the journalism industry in some way or another. From a very young age, she was fascinated with the old-school ways of media. It started with typewriters and old camera, and, later turned into retro movies and music. In middle school, AJay became infatuated with the Broadway musical Newsies, and later, the real-life yellow journalism battle of the 1890s.

After making the decision to quit her job earlier this year, Bennett had no idea where life was taking her next. During this time, she was able to invest in learning about the industry and fell in love with it all over again. Now, still not entirely knowing where life is leading her, AJay is excited to invest in this new and exciting passion.

“Desperation breeds creativity.”
